I read a book where a professional torturer cut the skin and muscle from ribs without killing the recipient. Then there was speculation that at a later stage she would break them out and still the person would live. She died so I never found out how far that charade would go. The question is can you cut that much skin away and not have the person die?

Hi, I am feeling mild pain on my left side of stomach just below ribs, since last one year. The pain is not sever but I regularly feel the pain. A while ago I got sick and was unable to eat, now I am better I am still struggling to eat I find myself eating once every couple of days and it's only something little to keep me going. I have noticed lately that I have had very dry eyes and blurred vision as well as pain in my lower rib cage I'm wondering if these could all be related?
