Even though someone is fully fit and have everything fine, still it takes 3 to 6 months to get conceive? What is the medical scintillating behind this? Could someone please elaborate kindly?

I am in 16 days postpartum .my breast was fine before and there were no lumps. But after milk has been produced, a lump is being seen in the left breast which is over the erola area, hard, sometimes red and hot if touched several times or  if given warm compressor. It's been 3 days but the lump is not going. I am feeding my baby with this breast. Is this just a clogged milk duct or something serious? I can't understand. What should I do now? Plz help.
