For past few days I am feeling a pinching pain in my pelvis region which is kind of moving. I don't know if the stone moved or is at the same place. What to do?

I have a 8mm stone in my Ureter. It's painful and Dr. suggested for surgery. Surgery will be RIRS and also Dr said that he will put the stent in Ureter for 2 weeks. I need 2nd opinion on this. Is there any other option rather than surgery? If it's necessary to go for surgery, do I have any other option apart from RIRS? Is it necessary to leave inside Ureter?
