Wife has been feeling tired and low throughout the day for over a month. Thyroid tests were completely normal and vitamin B12 was found to be very low. Has been taking medication for the same for the last 2 weeks, but not much improvement. Anything else to consider?

Under what circumstances, will a doctor prescribe Metformin as a first attempt at managing newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patient. And under what circumstances will a doctor prefer Glimepiride? Does it depend on the gender, or possible conditions such as Vitamin deficiencies, or recent bouts of viral fevers? Or is this is a fundamental difference of opinion on how patients should be treated in general? If yes, what is this difference in philosophy or school of thought? Thanks in advance.

Dear All, I am curious , as my mother who never had sugar has sudden increase in her sugar levels since last week, we did her blood sugar test at home & found this , after she complained of being tired & thirsty after doing regular house chores. May I request , if someone can guide us , how to start her treatment , she is complaining of headache & weekness. A right guidance will be much appreciated . Thankyou

I m a diabetic since 2015 . My current sugar level is : Fasting- 342 , Pp. - 457. How can I gain weight ?

My t3 level is 1.41, t4 is 15 and tsh is 0.16. I am currently taking 50mg thyroid tablet. Initially tsh was 22. After 1 month of 50 mg dose it came down to 9 . The doctor increased dose to 75 mg. Then tsh value came to 0.80. Then again i started taking 50 mg. Initially my tpo ab was 520. Now it is more than 1300. Do i need to change the dose.

I recently checked my fasting blood sugar, cholesterol and urine. Fasting blood sugar is 122 mg/dl, cholesterol is 185 mg/dl, however urine glucose is showing 2+. Solicit advice.
