No in diabetes sugar/ carbohydrates is surplus in blood not utilization in periphery because of not enter in cell and make energy unit ATP, which cause other root of matabolism disturbed lipid and protein katabloism. Yes obesity sedentary life cycle itself risk to develop diabetes. Obesity really dimand and supply disbalance food. Other diseases can also responsible like hypothyroidism, chusing syndrome, medicine, lifestyle factor etc.
