Type 2 diabetes, on medicine, metformin - 1g bd, glimepiride 2 mg od since 2 yr. Hb1ac - 6.8, fbc and pp normal, creatinine - 0.5,muscular pain on legs and fatigue. For last 10 days, last two days I reduce to metformin 500 mg bd, now ok no pain feeling good, is it lactic acidosis?

I'm asking this question for my grandmother, she is having blood pressure and diabetes. Her blood sugar levels are high, fasting blood sugar is around 200mg/dl and postprandial blood sugar is around 300 to 400 mg/dl. She is also having blood pressure. So why is this foot or ankle swelling is it due to to high blood glucose and hypertension? Or some other cause

Levothyroxine 88 mcg is not available at any chemist in our area, Navi Mumbai. Instead Thyroxine is available, brand name is Eltroxin 88 mcg. As per chemist Thyroxine cannot substitute Levothyroxine. I want to know your opinion in this regard.

My mother fasting sugar is 233 and she take Tenlimac 20 for long time before food and sugar is 372 today. What dose should she take or need to change medicine. Can we try Glucobay 50 at night and tenlimac 20 in morning as my father is taking the same and his sugar is under control.

I have been using 40 iu vials (using 6mm BD syringes) for insulin for the last one month but I want to shift to insulin pen since it has 4mm needle size ,but the pen has cartridges of 100iu , how to convert the 40 iu doses to 100 iu ? Is 100iu cartridges more powerful than 40 iu vials For instance I take 28 units of insulin from the 40 iu vial how much should I take from the 100iu ,that would be equivalent

My wife is having pain at the bottom of rib cage area. Some times burning sensation, some times eitching at same area and some time sudden piercing pain. Which doctor should we consult for this problem.
