Does homeopathy really work or is it really a pseudo placebo science? Why modern science reject it and call it a tout bussiness?

I am having Infected sebaceous cyst on my back from few weeks For last 3-4 days it's also having some pus discharge Doctor has prescribed some antibiotics and advised for Surgery. Someone said that there is treatment of this type of problem in homeopathy. Is there any treatment available in homeopathy so as to avoid surgery?? Kindly guide.
