My query is whether taking metformin for Polycystic disease for a long time is safe and doesn't have an effect on sugar mechanism of body and if no then what is the alternative.?

Hello doctor, I recently took blood test fasting and pp results shows 94 in fasting and pp -191 .3 yrs back I had gestational diabetes and post my delivery it was normal . Now after checking the results i was worried and also when I'm taking pp I had glass of tender coconut, coffee n ,2 dosa does these food increases more level ...should I take another test n check. 2 weeks back I had ear infection too...had some antibiotics n pain killer till now it's not gone. Is that due diabetes it's not cured.  I have hypothyroid which is normal in test Pls suggest me doctor .

I have tested HbA1C for my my mother and result is 6.4 and after 1 month i tested again and this time it was 6.2 and in between i also tested for Post and Preprandial blood glucose levels in a hospital lab but the results are like completely normal. But since HbA1C is gold standard test for diabetes diagnosis considering the value we can conclude that it is in prediabetes condition. Is medication required for this condition? How to prevent diabetes diabetes now?

What should do if diabetes don't go down with medicine. It continues showing 370 up. Thanks

As advised by my Diabetic Dr., I'm taking Glycomet SR500 once regularly. Now the Govt. Dr./Dispensary has advised/issued me  Metformin Hydrochloride 500mg (Generic name) tablets which has no mention of the term SR. Is it advisable to take such medicines with the difference in its name? Kindly advice.

My husband suger level is 132/216! is this normal?? Or he is now diabete patent? Should he took medicine whole life?
