Endocrinology
Pcod and metformin
I have pcod (bilateral)
Right ovary and left ovary - 8cc and 9cc.
My tsh = 1.475
Insulin (fasting) = 99
Prolactin = 23.73
I met a gyanaecologist.. she said prolactin level should be much lower and asked to take cabergolin 0.25 mg one tablet per week for 4 weeks. And she gave ocp for 3 months to regulate cycles.
Also, an endocrinologist advised me to take metformin and asked me to lose more 2 kgs.
But I feel my blood test reports are normal.. then why take these medications? I am practicing healthy lifestyle and exercising. My weight is 66 kg height is 5'3". Still trying to lose more weight. Also my breasts are lumpy and heavy.. did usg scan.. scan was normal. I dont know what is happening and I have missed my periods again this month. What should I do? Any suggestion?
