I have been having this server throat infection, I can't eat or drink it is very painful

I've been having ear pain and swelling. Yesterday doctor cleaned my ear and put some liquid with cotton in my ear. I took the cotton and again im having same problem. I feel that my ear contains water

My father is 52 years old. Since last 3 months, he has started coughing on a regular basis. He doesn't even smoke. Few tests like blood test and for TB also didn't show anything. The doctor said there is nothing to worry about, it's just an allergy. But he is coughing continuously. What should we do, please help? P.S He is a high blood pressure patient from many years and regularly takes Amlovas AT and he snores very loudly.
