Ear-Nose-Throat Problems

Why does throat get sore when i eat something cold? how does steam clear up choked nose? I breathe with the help of both,my nose and mouth..i can't just breathe by nose

Hi I had cold and had a little sore throat which was okay after 4-5 days but then I had to go on a trip and was consuming outside food for 4 days and very slight throat pain is back.
