Can I give maxtra syrup for cough and cold to my 1.3yrs old boy.and if what is the dosage.thanks

My son is 3.5 years old . He had a medical check up in his school . There they have mentioned like needs attention as has lower respiratory infection . What does it mean ?? I am so worried as I don't know about its consequences .
