Child Health Issues

My baby is 2 years 4 months old. He has been suffering from constipation since 1 year. He doesnt poop daily. 5 days in a week he poop. And hard poop . He takes more time before passing stool. Stool is hard and he kept running here and there until pas stool. His face become red become patience less. Jump run jump run . What can I do for constipation . He is hyperactive,  picky eater . I have given him Emty syrup for 10 days but no effect has been shown. What could be the reason. What test required . Any guidance medicine help please.

My son had viral fever since yesterday.doc gave meftal p for 2days.he said even if fever is not there i should give every 6hrs.but today he didnt have fever since morning so i didnt give. Should i have given?? Pls tell the reason if yes
