My brother is 24 years old student, suddenly he is facing hair loss problem, I consult with doctor also now he is taking medicine and applying a spray on hair, but now I need to know he needs to continue the medicine and spray?I am confused

I am 25 but I didn't grow any hair on my cheeks, but I am having hair only on my chin area. I have used many beard oils and also consulted a dermatologist doctor he checked and suggested testorene scan etc I did them and after seeing the report and checked my face he said I have hair follicles and suggested minoxidil. And after using Minoxidil I saw new hair appeared growing on my cheeks but after I stopped  using all that hair is gone. Please help
