Under which Circumstances Doctor prescribes SSRI and Under which circumstances Doctor prescribe Tri Cyclic Antidepressent ? I have a follow up question for the above as well. There are various SSRI in the market like Fluxotine , Fluvoximin , Paroxetin , Escitalopram etc . But how do Doctor choose one over the other ? I have same question for Tri Cyclic Antidepressent as well. There are Tri Cyclic antidepressent like Amitriptylin , Nortriptyline , Clomipramine etc. Under which circumstances Doctor choose one over the other ?

I have recurrent Depression and musical obcession, My doctor prescribed me Clomipramine. Initially my dose was 50 mg/ day then 75 mg. Now I have increased my dosen75 to 150 mg per day and I am suffering from severe constipation and dry mouth. Can I decrease back to 75mg ,?

Currently I am taking fluvoxamine 50(1-0-0), Clonazepam 0.5(1-0-0) and Clomipramine 25(0-0-1) for ocd and severe depression. Now I feel 75% Numbness in Sexual Desire, Which medicine will Treat my sexual problems and sexual weakness.

I am suffering from ocd with mental compulsion..my psychiatrist prescribed me escitalopram, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine,bupriprion , clomipramine, olanzapine, risperidone but none is working.. In my childhood i used to be a topper in study but now study seems like a threat for me thus i avoid it ...i want to study , i am not a lazy person but i dont know what to do now ,i avoid productivity..

Sir I am OCD patient 20 years old.My psychiatrist prescribe me fluvoxin 50 (Fluvoxamine50) in morning and syconil 25 mg( Clomipramine 25mg ) half tab means 12.5 mg with fluvoxin 50 in night...one day i replace syconil 25 mg ( clomipramine 25,colour =  erythrosine ) with clonil 25 mg ( Clomipramine 25 colour = lake of quinoline yellow and titanium di oxide ) Then I feel hypnotic jerk every night. Then I told to my psychiatrist... He said that in psychiatry if you replace medicine that have different colour and  excipients you may feel some change in mood or behavior and thinking also although the power and salt are same... But if medicines having different colours you may feel difference?? So when I came to my initial medicine then my problem of jerk was solved. Is colour of  TCA antidepressants play important role... SO WHY clonil 25 mg ( quinoline yellow  titanium di oxide) clofranil 25 (same salt but colour brillient blue and titanium di oxide ) results different although same salt?

Sir I am student my Psychiatrist prescribe me - In morning Psyvoxin 50 (Fluvoxamine 50) In night Psyvoxin 50 and half tab of syconil 25mg (clomipramine) My problem is that when I take Psyvoxin 50 alone in morning my anxiety increase so much...so I decided to change dose of my medicines according as - In morning Psyvoxin 50 (Fluvoxamine 50) and 1/4 tab of syconil 25 In night Psyvoxin 50 and 1/4 tab of syconil 25mg (clomipramine). Now my anxiety is low as compared to before.And I am feeling very comfortable with this... Is this ok
