My father has gone through gall bladder Operation, past 3 days he is having fever 100 to 101.3 , also his sugar levels are above 350 before meal , today his sugar level has reached to 516 and also his WBC count is 24200. How serious is the condition and what is suggested in this case

Fasting sugar is 159,urine 3+,mean blood glucose243,post breakfast sugar330&urine is 4+& HbA1c is 9,

I have diagnostic with type 2 diabetics and my doctor asked to get HBA1c after one month. Is it really worth talking HBA1c every one month?
