Can a diabetes patient stop his medicine ! Do I have to take medicine for life ? Please advice how can diabetes can be stopped for ever?

I am a 22 year old male with moderate exercise and does not consume more sugar. I am a non smoker and does not consume alcohol. I have a family history of diabetes type 2. I recently checked my blood sugar levels. FBS was 89g/dl and Hba1c was 5.8 . I am worried about the raised hba1c .. Am i a prediabetic ?

My mother has sugar and take doses of 10 units insulin regular 3 times a day and 12 units of insulin basalog one time a day. She also take 1 g of metsmall tablet 2 times a day andher age is 63 and she is also suffering from reccur urine tract infection. These days, her sugar level is in the range of 250 to 350. Kindly suggest us solution for that
