Can acupuncture cure diabetes?

Many online articles suggest that acupuncture is a great alternative remedy to treat type 2 diabetes. I want to understand if this holds true? If yes, I'd like to know the success rate and the time it takes to reverse diabetes through acupuncture. Thank you in advance!

Is this type 2 diabetes?

Every morning after a couple of hours I feel very hungry. After I do breakfast I start feeling energetic, then again when I am at work exactly after 2-3 hours I feel extremely hungry, feel a little light headed and shaky. After lunch I again feel better and the same thing happens at around 5pm before going home. I exercise everyday, about 6 km walk. My father has type 2 diabetes. 2 years ago my hba1c was 5.7. I have lost couple of kilos also recently, I have stopped eating meat and stopped lifting weights. I dnt have to urinate at night, but I do feel little more thirsty I think hard to quantify. Could this be t2 diabetes? Are my cells insensitive to insulin? Is the sugar crash causing me to feel so hungry everyday? What tests should I do? I have even checked my sugars once when I felt very hungry and surprisingly they were normal 80! Are my cells not accepting this insulin or are demanding more insulin. Please help.
