High sugar value

He was recently diagnosed with high sugar value of 275mg before fasting and 508 after2 hours. It's alarmingly high and pretty scared with HBa1ç standing at 13.5%. he is being advised to take metamorphism and insulin to reduce but I'm confused with many advising with its side effects and to try LCHF diet for reducing it. Please advice..
