Can two children with the same strain of hand foot and mouth reinfect each other with the virus? My 3 year old cousin gave my 4 year old hand foot and mouth at a play date last week. They are both still recovering. Is it safe to have them around each other without them getting sicker or reinfected?

My question is - in adults we cough spit out and get rid of chest congestion. Since a 9 Month old child cannot, how does a child get rid of the phlemn, I think she swallows everyone she coughs. Is there anything one must do?
