Hi, My father is having hypertension and chronic kidney disease and taking medicine for the same. However in last week he diagnosed with chest infection and having weakness. Our general physician prescribe clarithromycin 250 twice a day.. But from last 2 day he is feeling difficulties in passing urine. So is that effect of antibiotics clarithromycin or any other drug prescribed. Is clarithromycin causes bad effect on kidney

Hi, I take bisoprolol 5 mg for my high bp. Past two weeks I am having cold and now I started seeing brown mucus. I am in Uk and checked with doctor and they clarithromycin since I can't take penicillin for haemophilic condition. Is it safe to take this antibiotic as I always took cefuroxime Thanks

I had a sore throat which converted to a violent cough. Consulted a doc and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis and was prescribed Clarithromycin twice a day for 5 days. When I take the medicine, I feel slight shivers in my hands, thumping heart and slight weakness. Doesn't hinder my daily antivirus but wanted to know if this is expected. Am not taking any other medicines. Normal diet. My cough has gotten better, though.

Is Clarithromycin 500mg used in the treatment of typhoid fever. As this medicine is used to treat H pylori bacteria to best of my knowledge.

Good morning. My mother is having ear infection for almost a week now. Not able to hear properly. She's a kidney and diabetic patient. CKD stage 3a. After taking the antibiotic she feels uneasy. Symptoms are bitter taste, nausea and mild dizziness. Doctor has prescribed the medicine for 5 days. 2times a day. Till date she's taken for 3 days. Please don't mind can she stop the antibiotic or can she take only once a day. Before taking this medication she was taking azithromycin 250mg. Thank you.
