Flu

I caught fever last week. Symptoms are temperatures above 101F, body stiffness and pain, weakness, sometimes nose gets clogged (this happened in last 3 days out of the 6 days of my illness). I am taking Ibuprofen 400mg tid, cefixime 200mg tid and a drug combination (paracetamol 500mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 2mg, phenylephrine 5mg) tid for 1 one week continuously. Fever keeps going and coming every 8 hours but not getting cured. It is communicable as my wife also caught it yesterday. What can be the possible reason? How can this be cured?

I had taken amoxicillin about 8 months ago after going into an urgent care due to a severe sinus infection. Around 3 days after starting the medicine my lips began to swell up significantly with very tiny bumps all over my lips. Also the inside of my lips felt swollen and raw. I just recently had tonsillitis and was prescribed Azithromyzin 250 mg since I am unable to have amoxicillin. It is my 4th day taking it and the same effects are happening.
