Can i give raw pomegranate without making them into juices during fever and cough. My son doesn't likes it in juice. Can i give banana?

My pediatrician suggested for Maxtra syrup 5ml for my 4 month old baby. But I read about Maxtra Syrup, that it must  not be given to babies below 1 yr. Pls assist.
