I had a beard trim at a barber shop today. About one minute before me, the barber had trimmed the beard of another man who was over 40 years old. I had an open wound under my beard, and the barber’s scissors touched that wound while trimming my beard. I’m not sure whether there was any blood on the scissors from the previous customer. If that man was HIV-positive and there had been fresh blood on the scissors, could I get HIV from this?😢

Hello Doctor, I am 23 years old. I am reaching out to consult regarding my recent blood pressure readings. For the past 1 to 1.5 months, I have been going through high stress and health anxiety. When I measure my BP at home using a digital monitor, readings come around 140/95 to 145/90 mmHg. However, a year ago, my BP was normal at 120/80 mmHg with a mercury machine, and all my ECG and echo tests were completely normal at that time. Could these high readings be temporary spikes due to stress and anxiety? Do I need medication immediately, or can this be managed first with lifestyle changes? Please guide me on next steps. Thank you
