71 yr F, in April 2025, TSH of 10 detected on routine health first time. T3 T4 till now normal. No symptoms till now. After this Thyronorm 50 mcg was started.
TSH came 0.13 , so 25 mcg.
*After 2 mnths, TSH 5.6, so 37.5 mcg
*After 4 mnths, TSH 9.6 , so 50 mcg
*After 2 mnths, tsh now normal 3.3.
Now, Told to continue 50 mcg. Come after 4 mnths.
71 yrs, has early liver disease, cause unknown but at present liver and other all blood test normal, no symptoms. Hypertension. hba1c of 6.4. ppbs 142, low hb, rbc 5.
(1) Can taking 50 mcg for 4 mnth at tsh 3 cause it to go low?
(2) If tsh is normal, can medicine be stopped. Is medicine necessary seeing these tests?
Thanks
Hi,
I’m 27 years old female and currently weigh 100 kg and height is 5'5". I have been working out regularly for 6 days a week and eating normal home cooked food, but I’m not seeing any meaningful weight loss.
I also have hypothyroidism — my TSH was around 11 six months ago. I do feel low energy and fatigue quite often despite trying to stay active.
I’ve also noticed signs like dark pigmentation around my neck and under my eyes, which I’ve read could be related to insulin resistance.
I feel like despite consistent efforts, my body is not responding, and I’m getting physically tired. I want to understand if there’s an underlying metabolic issue.
Could you please guide me on what tests I should do and whether medical treatment options like GLP-1 medications would be appropriate in my case?
