The patient (65-year-old male) is currently admitted at Max Hospital, Dehradun, and is on tracheostomy support following severe pneumonia with sepsis. Despite ongoing treatment, there has been no significant improvement. Home IV Iron for 88yo Female (Hb 7.0)
Patient is an 88-year-old Female with severe anemia (Hb: 7.0 g/dL). Doctor has prescribed Iron Sucrose (Irozorb-S) IV injection. We live in a remote location, making hospital transport very difficult. Is it safe to administer this injection at home given her age? We are extremely concerned about the risk of Anaphylaxis (severe reaction). What emergency precautions or medicines (like Adrenaline) are mandatory? Also, are there any high-absorption oral alternatives (like Liposomal Iron) that can raise Hb levels quickly for an 88-year-old?
Fever for 4 days with back pain
Hi Doctor, I’m 13 years old and I’ve had a fever for 4 days now. Yesterday my temperature reached 101.9°F. My symptoms are: Constant throbbing pain in my back. A wet cough (not dry). A very blocked nose that makes it hard to sleep. I’m currently taking Paracip and Cetcip as prescribed by a doctor yesterday, but the fever is still hanging on. I wanted to check if there’s anything else I should do, especially for the back pain and the nose blockage.
