Teriparatide Inj after Ankle fracture

Hi, I recently had a Bimalleolar fracture left ankle for which surgery was done with Plate and screws. I was prescribed Teriparatide injection 20mcg daily for 3 months. I was told it is prescribed mostly for accelerated bone healing in fracture cases. Is it safe to take this medicine considering my age? Is there any long term side effect? Should I ask my doctor again? I read that it can be taken only for 2 years in a lifespan. Attached X rays for reference.
