Can sitagliptin/metformin 50/500 1 tab once day be given to patient in prediabetic range?
72 year, weight 52 kg. Hba1c is 6.4. FBS remains normal. PPBS around 130-140-143. Has early compensated liver cirrhosis. Normal creatinine. Hypertension.
Dr who prescribed also said to increase the dose. I hv heard prediabetes can b managed on metformin alone but not sure. No proper response from dr.
Please tell whether or not sitagliptin/metformin is right drug and dose for her n her condition??🙏🏻
BP remains high. Can it pose any risk if u consider it over treated.
I am 40Y old . My father 75 has diabetes . In may month my hb1ac was 6, fasting sugar 93, fructosamine -215 ( lab test)pp was 130 .yesterday I ate white rice dal and potataies at 7 pm . It was full plate .My pp came out to be 174. First time my pp is like this . Next day fasting was 104. both pp and fasting on glucometerHave I progressed to diabetes within 2 months . I was eating one full mango everyday after dinner may be it can be the cause but my 174 reading was without mango( i didnt eat mango that day ). I am going for walk after dinner since in nuclear family and having toddler plue 8 to 5 job it is difficult to maintain much diet. I am too much stressed. Kindly guide me. I know i have to be careful but sudden high numbers are stressing me
.
My prolactins level were high and doctor suggested MRI
These are the findings
"There is an ovoid nodule measuring 6.6 x 8.8 x 5.7 mm (AP x TR x CC) seen in
pituitary gland on left side, which appears isointense on T1, heterogeneously
hyperintense on T2, hypoenhancing on early phase of dynamic contrast images
and intense homogeneous contrast enhancement on delayed images of dynamic
study. Pituitary stalk is deviated towards right side. Imaging findings are
suggestive of pituitary microadenoma. Serum prolactin estimation is suggested."
I am very worried, what does it mean ?
