An HbA1c of 6.8, up from 6.2, shows your sugar control has drifted slightly, though it's still within a range most doctors would call reasonably controlled. Whether your metformin needs changing depends on your full picture, including your other readings, so that call is best left to your diabetologist or physician rather than guessed from one number.
Next Steps
Keep up diet changes and regular activity, since these move HbA1c on their own before any medicine change is needed. Mention the gas and bloating too, since that's a common side effect that can often be eased by adjusting the timing or form of your tablet.
Health Tips
Please get your blood pressure checked and share those readings at the same visit, since diabetes and blood pressure control go hand in hand.
