Change of medicine needed
My brother has diabetic since 9 years his hba1c now is 6.5 he is taking glycomet sr 500 once in the morning and olmy 20 for bp no need to change medication one doc prescribed sitacip m 50/500 do we need change medication or not and one more question if one day if he took sitacip m 50/500 by mistake the next day changed to glycomet will have any side effects or sugar fluctuation will be there thankyou

If his sugars are controlled with glycomet SR 500, then he can comtinue the same medication.
However there must be a reason to adding the new medication. How were the sugars FBS, PPBS at that time, when was the HbA1C 6.5. All these need to be known.

Follow once and monitor sugar levels . You should avoid hypoglycaemia. If his fasting and pp was controlled by one then no change needed but if fasting pp going out of range then change is needed . Your doctor is best judge

Continue with Tab. Glycomet SR 500 mg . Can switch to glycomet sr 500 mg even if you have taken sitacip m for a day. Repeat hba1c after 3 months .
