Electroconvulsive therapy refers to a standard psychiatric treatment aiming at inducing seizures in patients to relief psychiatric illness. Insulin shock therapy was first introduced by Manfred Sakel in the year 1927 and it was used extensively during 1940s and 1950s. In case of unilateral ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) both the electrodes are fixed on same side of a patient’s head, whereas in bilateral ECT, they are placed on both sides.

Dream of paralysis

So just today I had this dream. I was just slept for about 20 mins. When this dream came. But Iam sure i was in sleep. I felt that iam sitting on my bed and suddenly my mind went blank and could not move my any body part just feeling some vibrations all over. Even I couldnt speak, but i was trying to call my roomie to call ambulance but couldnt. My mouth wasnt opening. This was occurring for every 10 seconds all in a dream. But i think as my brain started to realise that it is just a dream when I tried to move a finger it was moving... After dat about five minutes I think I woke up normally but i was so scared. i had this type of dream once before. Sir please tell is it just a dream or a thing to worry about and i should get myself checked?

Small hypodence foci

Hi, My mother has been diagnosed in NCCT Head report with " Few small hypodense foci are seen in bilateral basal gangila" The impression of the report is : 1. Few small lacunar infarcts on bilateral basal gangila. 2. Otherwise no significant intracranial abnormality is seen in this study. She dont have BP, diabetes or any health issue. No allergy as well. Just get headaches after having paneer (tofu). Please advice what is required. Is there anything serious ?
