Im having elevated ldl cholesterol above 190mg/dl from past 3 yrs , with lifestyle modification and diet changes i have reduced my weight by 7kg and ldl cholesterol to 158mg/dl. Despite of the changes im having borderline high ldl cholesterol. I have also done lipoprotein a test which is also on the higher side . Do I require to take statins for indefinite period or I can decrease cholesterol levels further by diet and exercise alone.
Since the past two days have been having some weird pressure and deep burning ache in my neck and jaw- I was also having occasional chest pressure, but I knew it was due to GERD but this neck n jaw issue is new
I consulted my regular cardiologist, who did ECG, echo and some blood test, which were completely normal - I also have a history of a normal invasivea angiogram done a year ago
He gave me medicines for GRD and dysphasia mentioning that GERD issues can present in several atypical ways
But my mind remains fixed on cardiac side - since all the investigations have been done, I don't know if I should go for any other test
As soon as I drink water or eat something I'm getting burps immediately, getting stools daily but feels like incomplete evacuation and since 2-3 days my bp is around 95/65.
My b12 is 155
Iron is 43
Hb is 11.5
Rbc 3.69
Calcium 7.81
ESR 26
Rest cbc, lft, kft, thyroid profile, lipid profile were fine.
I took iron and b12 tablets for 20-25 days but there is no increment.
I tested for celiac disease too but it's negative. What's causing this burp and low bp? Is it the gut issues or heart issue?
EECP vs Better Non-Surgical Options: 61F Post-Pulmonary Edema (TVD, 42% EF)
61F. Frail/thin. Hospitalized last week for 1st time with acute pulmonary edema (now resolved). Currently stable: lungs clear, SpO2 98%, Pulse 82-85, FBS 155, PPBS 198. Has intense thirst and fragmented sleep.
Angiogram: Severe TVD. LMCA 30-40% stenosis; LAD total occlusion (filling via active collaterals); Distal LCX 90-95% stenosis; RCA total occlusion (retrograde filling). Surgeons advised against CABG/PCI due to frailty; recommended medical management as collaterals are compensating.
2D Echo: EF 42%, mild PAH, multiple hypokinetic LV segments. Chambers/IVC normal.
Meds: Axcer 90mg BID, Aspirin AV 75/40, Bisoprolol 1.25mg, Angispan 2.6mg, Oxra 10mg, Tab Leni 40mg (1.5 tabs/day). NovoRapid (10-10-8) + Lantus (10u at 10 PM). Strict 1L fluid limit, zero-salt diet.
Questions:
Can EECP safely mature her collaterals, or does increased venous return risk re-inducing pulmonary edema so soon?
