Hello Doctor, I am experiencing severe weakness, sharp pain in my calf muscles, and lower back pain sometimes .My Hemoglobin, TSH, Blood Sugar, and Electrolytes are all completely normal. Could this be a Vitamin D3 or B12 deficiency, and which further tests or treatments do you recommend?"
I am a 30-year-old male with persistent fatigue and low energy. My recent blood tests show Vitamin B12 <148 pg/mL and Vitamin D 11.8 ng/mL. Hb is 15.1 g/dL and CBC is otherwise normal. Thyroid, HbA1c, kidney function and most liver parameters are normal. I am vegetarian. Please advise on the appropriate treatment for these deficiencies, including whether oral B12 or injections are preferable, dosage and duration. Also, should I get any further tests to identify the cause of the severe B12 deficiency or investigate my fatigue? I can share the complete blood report.
Hi, My Vitamin D level was 28 (insufficient), doctor prescribed 60,000 IU weekly for 8 weeks. After taking 3 doses, I noticed my heart rate goes above 100 bpm for 2-3 days after each dose. Should I stop this and switch to a lower daily dose instead? Please advise. Thanks
My ferritin levels are at 8.1 ng/ml Last year it was 12. But I was not prescribed any supplement as my hb was 12.4. I again did ferritin test by myself. I am 28 years old. I am having a lot of fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, anxiety and a high pulse rate, it's been a month and I am not able to do basic functions. I don't have the energy to leave my bed.
