So yesterday I felt sudden dizziness and subtle imbalance. Had to rest after that, whole night wasn't so active like always. Patient is an 88-year-old Female with severe anemia (Hb: 7.0 g/dL). Doctor has prescribed Iron Sucrose (Irozorb-S) IV injection. We live in a remote location, making hospital transport very difficult. Is it safe to administer this injection at home given her age? We are extremely concerned about the risk of Anaphylaxis (severe reaction). What emergency precautions or medicines (like Adrenaline) are mandatory? Also, are there any high-absorption oral alternatives (like Liposomal Iron) that can raise Hb levels quickly for an 88-year-old?
