My dental bridge was recently replaced after 15 years due to sensitivity in the last abutment tooth. It was root-canal treated and a new bridge was placed. It has been 9 days since the new bridge was placed. I experience pain and occasional sensitivity in the last tooth. I had an OPG taken and the dentist says everything looks normal. He even reduced my high points twice. I even got a second opinion, for which the dentist said the RCT looks good, but if the problem persists then there's no option other than extracting the tooth. I only had a molar extracted on my other side and the other molar is waiting to be crowned. Now with this opinion, I am even more anxious and devastated as I could permanently lose all my molars on the lower jaw. The pain is still there and it gets worse in the morning after I wake up. But I can manage it for some time but it won't go away. I am seriously scared there might be a hidden tooth fracture that's not showing on the X-ray. Any advice is appreciated.
I had a dental infection. My dentist drilled the tooth, drained the pus, and started antibiotics (Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid and Metronidazole) for 5 days. And warm salt water rinse in 5-6 times in day, The next day, swelling/pus appeared and seems to have collected in the palate. I have no fever now, and after 72 hours of antibiotics the fever has not returned, but the palate remains swollen and very painful, possibly due to trapped pus. The pus is not draining on its own. Can the pus drain or be absorbed naturally with antibiotics, or does it usually require professional drainage?
How many days can the palatal swelling and pain take to completely resolve?
Had impacted wisdom and it caused distal decay in 2nd molar...now wisdom has been removed...symptoms before extraction were cold sensitivty 2.. 3 second and pain while biting...after extraction cold sensitivty is same..but pain while biting increased...14th August was the date for extraction...now dentist said it is 50-50 for rct or filling ..they said we will remove a decay...and put temporary filling and wait for 21 days ..if no pain then filling otherwise wise rct...now it has been 4 days since...normally no pain...some time mild pain...1/10..and cold sensitivity same...1 2 second...and pain while biting at a certain angle...what to expect next
I have had a dental bridge for 15 years replacing the last 3 teeth on the left side, as the middle tooth (molar) was extracted. It developed sensitivity a few weeks ago. No infection was shown on the X-rays, but my dentist performed an RCT on my last abutment tooth. Post-RCT, I still had mild sensitivity lasting for 2 days which turned into pain on the 3rd day. I took Keterol DT for the pain and the pain subsided and didn't return for the next week. So he took measurements and fitted my new bridge the day before yesterday, telling me I should feel no pain, but I keep having pain in the tooth where the RCT was done and it aggravates even when food or the opposite tooth touches that part of the bridge. I am seriously devastated and scared.
I accidentally had a retracting habit of jaw for a month in which I had swayed opening towards the opp side clicking on each opening (only on left )and tightness and spasms but now it's been 10 days since I've stopped it and the sway spasms tightness and pops have vanished. Now I only have some occasional opening pops which are dull but my main concern is that my left side feels uncoordinaated while chewing and it feels like the left side sinks when I clamp down though this sinking feeling itself has gone down by a lot and now I can naturally hold my normal centered position. Also the symptom I fear is that somedays I wake up with a jaw that catches when I open. I am able to prevent this by sleeping mindfully on my right side. I have no pain whatsoever and opening is unrestricted and clcikings are only present infrequently while chewing. I am confused on what's going on with me please help. I visited a maxillofacial surgeon while retraction habit and told me not to worry
