Health Q&A
Hypnic jerks and muscle twitching

Sir, I have been experiencing hypnic jerks and muscle twitching for about a month now (around 28 days). I consulted a neurologist, and he prescribed Valgress CR 300 and Clonazepam 0.25, which I am currently taking. At present, the twitches have reduced at times, and the jerks are not as strong as before—they have become milder. However, occasionally I still experience 1–2 strong jerks. The doctor mentioned benign muscle fasciculation syndrome and hypnagogic myoclonus. For the past 4 days, I have also been feeling slight heaviness in my head and a mild sense of darkness or dimness in my vision, but I am able to carry out my normal activities and do not have any weakness. Sir, I would like to understand how long it usually takes to recover from this condition and when I can expect to feel completely normal. Done EEG also but result came normal
