Antenatal malformations

Health Q&A
Irregular periods

My periods started at age 14 and became irregular around age 15. At age 16, I was told that I had ovarian cysts and was prescribed medicines to regulate my periods. I was also given another large pink-colored tablet, but I don’t remember its name. After taking the medicines, I experienced sudden weight gain. I later consulted another doctor who said the previous medicine dosage may not have been appropriate. PCOD/PCOS was never confirmed. My periods are still very irregular—sometimes I don’t get them for around 3 months and sometimes up to 9 months. I want to know the possible cause and what tests or evaluation I need.

Hello, I am 7 months post partum. I had been prescribed Melmet before pregnancy to help regularise periods and have been asked to continue the same. I wanted to know the dosage for the same. How many times should I take the tablet? My  sugar is normal.

Surgical Abortion

Up to how many weeks is it safe to have a surgical abortion? Approximately how many weeks of pregnancy can an abortion be done without any complications?

Pregnancy planning

I'm 28yrs old, had one abortion at 5.5 weeks in June. I am planning for pregnancy in late this year or may be Jan 2027. Please suggest when should I start taking folic acid and other medications to conceive and everything goes well. No smoking/drinking. Working out and trying to be on healthy diet on most days. Please suggest ?

Period delay

I wanted to ask about my girlfriend's delayed period. Her last period started on June 28, and we expected her next period around July 28, but she still hasn't gotten it. We were intimate between July 2 and July 6, but there was no vaginal intercourse or penetration. We only had oral sex and fingering, and there was no ejaculation. She also took a home pregnancy test, which was negative. Given this situation, is pregnancy a concern, or could the delayed period be due to other reasons? Should we wait a little longer for her period, or would you recommend that she consult a gynecologist or get any tests done?
