Can sitagliptin/metformin 50/500 1 tab once day be given to patient in prediabetic range?
72 year, weight 52 kg. Hba1c is 6.4. FBS remains normal. PPBS around 130-140-143. Has early compensated liver cirrhosis. Normal creatinine. Hypertension.
Dr who prescribed also said to increase the dose. I hv heard prediabetes can b managed on metformin alone but not sure. No proper response from dr.
Please tell whether or not sitagliptin/metformin is right drug and dose for her n her condition??🙏🏻
BP remains high. Can it pose any risk if u consider it over treated.
My age is 40 . In may month my hb1ac was 6, fructisamine was normal ( thru lab test). After that once I did pp sugar at home it was 132. At that time I was at my native home . I came to chennai in june where i am working full time as teacher . We have toddler and we are nuclear family . I started testing everyday blood glucose sugar in july month . Fasting came 104 and pp sugar was 124 when i eat 2 paneer parantha with curd . Even I started eating low glycemic index rice . My pp with rice will be 154. I have started walking after dinner everday . I have stopped tea except in morning and too with less sugar . My father 75 is also diabetic . When i am eating liitle rice and roti also pp is high . I am working full time 8to 5 6 days a week . What can I do to reverse this condition . When can I have again hb1ac test. Since working i cant follow too much diet schedule . I think if i will again do blood test in august month - hb1ac will be more. Is frequent urination common in prediabtes

29M, 98kg, 178cm (BMI 31). Fasting labs 22/06/2026.
Fasting Glucose: 93 (normal)
HbA1c: 5.7% (borderline)
Fasting Insulin: 54 mIU/L (high, ref 2.6-24.9)
HOMA-IR: 6.4 (high, ref 0.7-2.0)
ALT 64, GGT 98 ( fatty liver), Vit D 16 (deficient). Hypertension on Cilnidipine. No diabetes.
Endocrinologist advised only weight loss and vitamin D. But my HOMA-IR is 3x the upper limit. Should I be on metformin at this stage to address insulin resistance and protect against diabetes, or is weight loss alone the right approach? Also open to GLP-1 if appropriate given BMI 31.
My thyroid levels are under control at 2.589 (TSH) But my doctor suggested that I take Thyronorm 50 mcg daily. I have been doing that for four years now. I take the tablet at 8 am on empty stomach. It is a bit inconvenient for me. Can I take it in the evening say at 5 pm daily. I eat dinner at around 9.30 pm. In between, I drink juice during badminton at 8 pm and eat a small bite of brownie at 7.45 pm. Please advise if it is ok to take the tablet at 5 pm. Thanks.
