The doctor added Risperidone 0.5 with nexito 30 mg. After taking it, my speech became slurred. When I spoke to the doctor, he said it was a side effect and stopped the medication. How long will it take for my speech to return to normal? It's been 8 days since I stopped taking it. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes it becomes slurred. Please reply
If a 13 yo who had acute anxiety episode with distressing thoughts like what if some negative creature existed, what if someone did harm to me, for 4 days, first time in life, taken to psychiatrist on 5th day, who counselled and gave etilaam 0.25 for 7 days and sos and ssri flunil 10 for 45 days... he has taken 30 days of ssri till date in morning 10am. His anxiety went off immediately after a day of etilaam although he had drowsiness and slightly low bp from it. He is taking ssri now but he has been having disturbed sleep and daytime yawning and light fatigue especially in evening... he's unable to focus and study for more than 8 to 10 minutes in a stretch, he starts yawning and takes break. So focus seems to have reduced... also slightly hyperactive behavior at times. He used to study till late night before but now seems fatigue and focus less but he is enjoying watching shows, searching online different things etc. Is this long term ssri unnecessary for him as he has no anxiety now

I would like to explain my history before we decide on treatment. In 2024, one of my close friends died from a sudden cardiac arrest in front of me. After witnessing it, I had a severe panic episode, blanked out, couldn't speak properly, couldn't eat, and had intense anxiety. My family doctor prescribed Alprax 0.5 mg before meals, which helped me recover. Unfortunately, after 4–5 months, my family doctor passed away, and I continued Alprax on my own. Now I want to stop it safely. I have consulted a few psychiatrists who prescribed Diazepam or Tryptomer but advised me to stop Alprax suddenly. Every time I tried, I developed severe rebound anxiety, insomnia, loss of appetite, and worsening symptoms. I am not asking to stay on Alprax permanently. My only request is a gradual, supervised taper, with any long-term medicine you feel is appropriate, so I can discontinue Alprax safely without severe withdrawal or rebound symptoms
