Fungal infection
I have been having this severe iching and pigmentation on the sole and sides of both the feet for two years now. Earlier it was mild, and very slowly it kept progressing. I thought I was not keeping my feet clean, so started taking extra care, but still the itching persisted. I went to the hospital in my institution(IIT) and that doctor gave me a mark reduction cream thinking it was a normal hyperpigmentation. I am positive that it is a fungal infection by seeing how it keeps coming back. It gets itchy on the sole of my feet and the skin is dry and pigmented. With the appearance it seems like tenia pedis but I'm not sure. I have had jock itch previously for which I took medication fluconazole for around 2 months in the year 2017-18. This foot fungus started in 2020 when I went on a trip to a hill station. I think I caught the disease from one place of stay. I don't trust the doctors present here in this institution. And my concern is whether this infection has turned resistant?
