Health Q&A
Periods 3–4 Times a Month?

My mother is between 45 and 55 years old. For the past few weeks, she has been experiencing bleeding/periods 3–4 times within a single month. Earlier, her menstrual cycles were regular, but now the bleeding has become very frequent. We would like to know the possible reasons for this. Could this be due to perimenopause/menopause, hormonal imbalance, uterine fibroids, polyps, thyroid problems, or any other underlying condition? What investigations or tests would you recommend, and should she consult a gynecologist immediately? Please advise on the possible causes and the appropriate next steps for diagnosis and treatment.
