Metropolitan Hospital came into being in April 1968, when a group of renowned doctors and businessmen, called United Doctors Service Corporation, envisioned to set up a tertiary level hospital in downtown Manila. The mission of the hospital then was to promote Christianity by providing compassionate and caring health services. Back then it was named in Chinese that translated into “founded in honour and reverence to Christ.” In 2005, in order to provide the highest quality of care and improve its competitiveness, Metropolitan Hospital upgraded itself to a new level and became Metropolitan Medical Center.
Over the years since its inception, Metropolitan medical center has been growing rapidly while acquiring some of the cutting-edge medical equipment such as operating X-ray machines, hemodialysis machines, intensive cardiac care unit, and respirator machines. It also has world-class diagnostic center, which includes some of the most widely used services such as Ultrasound, EEG, Colposcopy, Pulmonary, Mammography, and Occupational Therapy. Metropolitan medical center also houses the country’s first and the best GI Endoscopy Unit.
