Vitamin D deficiency
Hi Doctor, I recently got a full body blood test done, and I’m attaching the report here for your review. Based on the results, it looks like I have a deficiency in Vitamin D. I haven’t started any supplements yet, but I’d like your advice on how to correct this safely and effectively. I live in a PG setup with limited sun exposure, and I’m working on improving my overall wellness—including fitness, nutrition, and emotional balance. Could you please guide me on: - Whether I need a higher dose of Vitamin D3 temporarily  - If I should combine it with Vitamin K2 or other nutrients  - How long I should continue supplementation  - Any lifestyle or dietary changes that would support recovery Looking forward to your guidance.

Your report shows Vit D and and Vit B12 deficiency. But a complete CBC report would have been much better for differentials of your vitamin B12 deficiency. For Vitamin D Deficiency following is advised 1. Vitamin D3 60K IU 1 sachet/week dissolved in water or milk for 8 weeks thereafter 1 sachet / every alternate week for 4 weeks 2. Dietary changes- Consume fatty fish if non vegetarian In case of vegetarian consume fortified dairy products and cereals 3. Early morning sun exposure atleast for 1 to 2 hours every day FOR VITAMIN B12 DEFICIENCY 1. Methylcobalamin tablet 1500mcg 1 tablet once a day after meal for atleast 3 months 2. If possible consult nearby physician for Injectable form. ( It will increase your vit B12 quickly and no need of daily oral supplements) 3. Dietary changes: If Non-vegetarian fish poultry meat Vegetarian Dairy products
Next Steps
1.Share your complete CBC report for differentials regarding anaemia if any or other causes of Vit B12 deficiency 2.Only take B12 supplements as of now do not combine with any other micronutrients as it will help in differentiating other disorders in case of malabsorption like Pernicious anaemia/ H pylori infection 3.Repeat blood test after 3 months
Health Tips
1.Try and make dietary changes 2.Avoid smoking and alcohol intake 3.Start supplementation as soon as possible 4.If taking injectable form of Vitamin consult your nearby Doctor 5. Do not exploit use of Pantoprazole Omeprazole like drugs

Yes you need to first have high dose vitamin D supplementation since the deficiency is acute. You can start with Capsule Uprise D3 60K ONCE weekly for 8 weeks followed by 60K once every 2 weeks for another 8 weeks. Regarding Vitamin B12 Deficiency, you need to get Intramuscular injection of Inj Neurobion RF Forte...1 injection/week for 4 weeks. Get it by a qualified doctor only as the injection could be quite painful.
Next Steps
After completing the course get your labs repeated for Vit D and Vit B12 after 8 weeks
Health Tips
Adding 100IU of Vit K2 with Vitamin D increases the overall absorption and utilisation of Vit D. so yeah that'll help but only if taken with daily supplementation of Vit D during maintenance phase.

Your reports show vitamin D and B12 deficiency, and HDL is a bit low compared to LDL. These can explain fatigue or low energy. With limited sun exposure, supplementation is the right approach
Next Steps
For Vitamin D, a higher dose is often started for a few weeks, followed by a lower maintenance dose. Vitamin K2 can be useful when on long-term high-dose Vitamin D, but the main focus should be correcting the deficiency first. Vitamin B12 supplementation is also needed, either oral or injectable depending on absorption and symptoms. Alongside, aim for 30 minutes of morning sunlight when possible, exercise regularly, and add protein-rich foods, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats to support both heart health and vitamin absorption. If this continues or worries you, book a quick consult with me on Practo and I will review your report in detail and suggest the exact dose and duration
Health Tips
Do not start high-dose supplements without supervision. Retest Vitamin D, B12, and lipid profile after 2 to 3 months to track progress. Improving sleep, reducing stress, and regular fitness will also help balance cholesterol levels

Lifestyle & dietary changes: Try to get safe sun exposure (morning or late afternoon, 15–20 minutes, a few times per week if possible). Include foods like fortified dairy, eggs, mushrooms, and fatty fish if your diet allows. Maintain regular physical activity and overall balanced nutrition, as these improve absorption and bone health. I’d recommend reviewing your blood report with us, who can prescribe the right dose and duration for you.
