Hello. Congratulations, happy motherhood 🌸
Don't stop eating rice completely. During breastfeeding, you need adequate nutrition. Rice, wheat, and ragi can all be part of a healthy diet—the key is balanced portions and enough protein.

Wait till 6 months post delivery, as your kid's Nutrition depends on you, or s/he on breast feed. When topup feeds start, you can go for weight reduction slowly.
You should have your diet for breastfeeding till then.
At 3 months after a cesarean section, your body is still recovering, and since you are exclusively breastfeeding, this is not the time for a very restrictive weight-loss diet. Aim for slow, steady weight loss (around 0.5 kg per week) while maintaining a good milk supply. You can certainly include whole wheat and ragi if you can tolerate.
●Early morning: Warm water + a handful of soaked almonds or walnuts.
●Breakfast: Ragi porridge/dosa or whole wheat chapati with eggs, paneer, or dal.
Mid-morning: A fruit (apple, orange, guava, or papaya).
●Lunch: 1–2 chapatis or a small portion of rice + dal/beans or chicken/fish + plenty of cooked vegetables + curd.
●Evening snack: Roasted chana, sprouts, or a handful of nuts with milk or buttermilk or Dry fruit laddu or methi laddu or gond laddu or til laddu
●Dinner: Whole wheat chapati or ragi roti with vegetables and a protein source (dal, paneer, chicken, fish, or eggs).
●Before bed (if hungry): A glass of haldi milk.
☆ Additional tips:
Drink 2.5–3 liters of water daily, especially while breastfeeding.
Include protein at every meal to support healing and milk production.
Avoid sugary drinks, sweets, fried foods, and processed snacks.
Once your obstetrician has cleared you, start with 30–45 minutes of walking and gradually add postpartum core-strengthening exercises to help reduce the belly.
Next Steps

Yes. If 3 months after a C-section, you can reduce rice and include wheat and ragi if you tolerate them well.
A balanced approach:
✅ Wheat (roti/phulka) – 2–3 rotis per meal if needed
✅ Ragi – ragi dosa, ragi roti, or ragi porridge 3–4 times/week
✅ Rice – no need to completely avoid; ½–1 cup cooked rice can be included
✅ Protein – dal, sprouts, paneer, eggs, fish, chicken, curd
✅ Vegetables – plenty of cooked vegetables and salads
✅ Healthy fats – nuts, seeds, ghee in moderation
If breastfeeding, avoid very restrictive diets because you need adequate calories and nutrients for recovery and milk production.
