Congratulations on the new addition to your family! After a C-section, it's essential to follow a balanced diet that promotes healing, supports milk production, and helps with weight management. Post-C-Section Diet (after 10 days) Foods to Eat: 1. Warm, nourishing soups like lentil soup, vegetable soup, or chicken soup 2. Easy-to-digest foods like idlis, dosas, uttapams, or rice porridge 3. Wholesome grains like brown rice, quinoa, or whole wheat 4. Leafy greens like spinach, kale, or collard greens 5. Fresh fruits like berries, citrus fruits, or apples 6. Nuts and seeds like almonds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds 7. Protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, or lentils 8. Healthy fats like avocado, coconut oil, or ghee Foods to Avoid: 1. Spicy or heavy foods that can cause discomfort or indigestion 2. High-fiber foods that can cause gas or bloating 3. Caffeine or carbonated drinks that can reduce milk supply 4. Processed or packaged foods with added sugars or preservatives Tips to Increase Milk Supply: 1. Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) 2. Consume milk-boosting foods like oats, fenugreek, or fennel seeds 3. Eat small, frequent meals to keep your energy levels up 4. Avoid stress and get plenty of rest 5. Consider lactation tea or supplements after consulting with dietician
