Pcod vegeterian indian diet
Hi Doctors, I have pcod . I am 5 ft 4 inches and had my weight maintained between 62 - 63.4 till now. I do not eat fast food , any soft drinks ( sometimes once in a month) Recently from a week I started taking 100 paneer additional daily in my diet to increase protein intake and now I see my weight has increased to 66 kg. Is paneer contributing to this? I had been eating Rajma, chick peas , nutri daily . I do 15 mins surya namaskar and 45 mins brisk walking(4kms ) 5 times a week. What might be increasing my weight and is there any food which is low in fat and calorie and high in protein , fibre if my current diet is wrong?

Hi! You're doing a great job with regular exercise and avoiding junk food — that's a big plus. But adding 100g paneer daily may have increased your overall calorie intake, which could be contributing to the weight gain. For PCOD, it's important to include low-fat, high-protein, and high-fibre options like tofu, sprouts, quinoa, and moong dal.
Next Steps
I'd be happy to guide you with a personalized PCOD-friendly meal plan that supports weight loss and hormonal balance.

Thanks ! Since you are dealing with PCOD and weight gain , I’ll suggest a vegetarian diet that’s Hormone balance Low glycemic index to manage Insulin spikes Anti inflammatory Helps with weight management 1. Prioritise low glycemic index foods Eat Whole grains, legumes, leafy greens, berries and sweet potatoes Avoids : White rice , maida, cornflakes, white bread, sugary cereals 2. Balance macronutrients in every meal Fiber : veggies, seeds and fruits Plant protein: dal , chana , tofu, sprouts and nuts Healthy fats : flaxseed, chia, avocado olive oils 3. Maintain fixed meals timings: Eat every 3-4 hours to avoid blood sugar dips and energy crashes Don’t skip breakfast, keep dinner light and early 4. Smart carb swap: White rice —— millet ( ragi , jowar , bajara ) Wheat roti——-multigrain/ millet roti Potato ——— sweet potatoes and pumpkin 5.

Great job with the lifestyle modification part! However take 50 gm paneer on alternate days, increase curd intake instead. Milk and paneer do have its effect on pcos .
