Hello,
Kindly note whether you are over weight or not, purely depends on your height too. Your lifestyle, eating patterns, workout routine, and mental health along your sleep cycles should be considered first.
If everything is good, then try eliminating sugar rich foods like tea/coffee, sweets, and deserts. Your focus should be primarily on protein rich foods like egg, chicken, fish, lentils, pulses, paneer, green leafy vegetables, sprouts, seeds and nuts etc. 30-40 mins walk daily can help you a lot. Maintain 7-8 hours of sleep cycle. Avoid junk food like pizza, burgers, carbonated drinks, and processed foods like chips and namkeens.
Next Steps
For best results, follow a balanced vegetarian diet that supports your mental well-being. You can consult for a personalized diet plan.
To lose weight you need to follow a calorie deficit diet. To give a diet plan, it is very important to understand your daily routine, eating habits, work schedule, sleep cycle, and even stress levels. Everyone’s lifestyle is different like some work night shifts, some travel a lot, and some skip meals due to busy mornings. Without knowing when and what you usually eat, it is difficult to suggest any particular diet plan. However, here are some tips to follow to lose weight:
- Include complex carbohydrates like whole grains, millets, and oats.
- Include protein in every meal like dals, eggs, chicken, tofu, sprouts, and fish.
- Include green vegetables and fruits for fiber intake.
- Incorporate healthy fats from nuts, seeds, and avocados.
- Limit sugar, fried items, bakery products, packaged and processed foods.
- Eat small, frequent meals to avoid overeating at one meal.
- Along with diet, it is also important to have an exercise routine. Any physical activity, even brisk walking for 40 – 50 mins everyday helps you to lose weight.

Hi. Loosing weight and being healthy these are two different parameters. One should focus on loosing fat and muscles gain simultaneously. Better is to focus on that. Likewise you might have seen people who eats a lot but still tend to very slim and skinny on the contrary there are people who eat less but tend to put on weight. That is called constitution, better is to check your constitution ( vata/pitta/kapha) and go accordingly. Choose the best meal as required by you. As every individual is different and unique.
