Avasa Hospital, Manikonda

This was the most disappointing experience I've had with a medical professional in India!

I had booked an appointment with Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy for 6p.m. on 20.8/2020. I arrived for the appointment in plenty of time. I was advised to wait whilst the receptionist informed Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy that I had arrived. . The receptionist said that she would set up an online consultation. I informed her that a physical appointment had been arranged, as evidenced by the number of messages I had received, reminding me of the appointment! The doctor denied that she had any notice of the appointment and could not attend the appointment as she was busy with other things!

The receptionist said that I could see someone else and that they would report back to Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy.

If this is an example of the standards care of duty by Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy and is a reflection of the dismissive way that that this physician has shown contempt for a new patient, then Avasa hospital is a place to be avoided.

I understand that doctors work under pressure and have to respond to changing circumstances. Surely it would have been courteous to inform me that she was unable to attend the appointment!

The most disappointing

Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy deserves all the praise. She treated my mother’s multiple myeloma with a bone marrow transplant and her care was deeply effective. Right from the start, she displayed tremendous empathy and compassion by explaining the treatment processes in detail and addressing all our concerns honestly and thoroughly. Understandably, my mother was very anxious, but Dr. Padmaja’s calming demeanor and confidence helped us throughout. The transplant went smoothly, and my mother has since recovered remarkably well under Dr. Padmaja's continued supervision.

Currently, Dr. Padmaja is treating my sister for lymphoma which involves the central nervous system and bones, making it a very complex and frightening diagnosis. Dr. Padmaja has once again gone beyond the call of duty; she has been a tremendous backbone for us as a family. Her efforts and actions have been very detailed and compassionate while applying evidence-based medicine. Her follow-through has never waivered despite remarkable complexity of the case in terms of options provided, thorough devotion to planning, and clarity in communication maintained every step along the way. It is clear that commitment goes beyond medical decisions, and extends to her patients who receive the utmost respect, kindness, and attention they are given focusing not just on the medical, but the personal, as well.

It helps me tremendously for her to guide us in these difficult times. Her unmatched knowledge; however, her extraordinary character sets her apart. In regards to blood conditions, she is the light of the tunnel that provides people with 🩻hope.

I did not meet Dr. Padmaja Lokireddy because she was not available at the booked time slot. The clinic staff informed me politely and clearly, but overall I am very disappointed and would rate the experience 1 star out of 5.

My experience with Dr. Abdul Towheed was good. The doctor explained everything clearly, and I would recommend him to others. I would rate the experience four and a half out of five.
