Yes, a few basic tests are worth doing here. Persistent low energy with short temper at 42 is worth checking properly rather than just pushing through. Yes, a basic panel is reasonable: CBC, thyroid profile (TSH), fasting blood sugar and HbA1c, vitamin B12, vitamin D, ferritin, and liver and kidney function - deficiencies of B12, vitamin D and iron along with hypothyroidism or early diabetes are the commonest correctable causes I see. Please also honestly review sleep (snoring or unrefreshing sleep may mean sleep apnoea, common at this weight range), alcohol, and work stress, as these mimic every deficiency. Alongside the tests, 30 minutes of brisk walking most days, a fixed sleep and wake time, and cutting late-night screens usually improve energy and irritability within a few weeks. If you also have persistent sadness, loss of interest, or any thoughts of harming yourself, please seek help early - that is treatable too. Once you have the reports you can book a consult with me on Practo (fee Rs 500) and we will go through them together and plan treatment.
