Feeling weak, sleepy or low specifically after lunch, while on a diabetes medicine, usually points to one of two things — a post-meal fall in sugar (reactive hypoglycaemia) or a sharp sugar spike after a heavy carbohydrate meal. The only way to know which is to check your glucose with a glucometer at the moment you feel low, and again 2 hours after that meal, and note it down for a week. Please do not increase, reduce or stop your tablet on your own. In the meantime, keep lunch smaller and split it, cut down rice/maida in that meal, add protein and vegetables, and never skip breakfast. Take a short 10-minute walk after lunch rather than sitting or sleeping.
Next Steps
Maintain a one-week record of glucose readings (fasting, when symptomatic, and 2 hours after lunch) along with HbA1c, and get haemoglobin, thyroid and vitamin B12/D checked, since anaemia and thyroid issues also cause this. Bring these to a review so the dose and timing of your medicine can be adjusted properly. You can book a teleconsult with me on Practo with these reports, or see me at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj (consultation fee Rs 100).

Looks like obesity , Insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome Only you can help your self Cut your carbohydrates.. mindful eating.. looking at what is there in plate Most Indian plate specially North Indian are obsessed with Roti as principal nutrient.. Rather focus on salad first about a quarter plate then eat Dal /any other protein with lot of vegetables in it..Roti and Rice to be limited to quater of plate. Once this proportion is met in diet their will be no sugar spike followed by insulin spike which makes you feel dull and low..
Next Steps
two meals a day as described above one around 9-10am second 7-8pm snacks on fruit nuts and healthy protein if feel hungry around 7am and 5pm plenty of water 6am on getting up and 10 pm bedside .
Health Tips

Feeling low after lunch is a common problem. Many people want to have a nap for 30 to 40 minutes after lunch and after that they are normal. Please get your blood sugar profile done. Glyciphage 250 mg at night is no treatment for spells of hypoglycemia.

Post-meal “low sugar” episodes need confirmation with an actual glucose reading. Metformin alone usually does not cause hypoglycemia, so other causes or dietary factors should be considered.
Next Steps
Check blood glucose during symptoms and maintain a record of meals and readings. If true hypoglycemia is documented repeatedly, consult a physician for further evaluation.Since you are 24y , I need to know why are you taking metformin ,is it because of diabetes or weight loss, we need to know type of diabetes, further workup to be done, kindly consult.
Health Tips
Avoid skipping meals and excessive intake of simple sugars. Do not change or stop metformin without medical advice.

It's a sign of insulin resistance. Check your sugars as well as insulin levels. Glyciphage 250mg is very less dose. It's function also lasts for 4 to 8 hours only. It's action will not be there till noon. Check your sugars, HbA1c and review with report
Next Steps
feel free to consult me on practo for further evaluation and management
